Despite its adventurous bent, Sasquatchfabrix. draws primarily from Japanese heritage for its seasonal collections and infrequent collaborations. This old school influence again comes into play for the brand’s latest joint effort, a special capsule co-masterminded with British record label Ninja Tune.
Delayed from 2020 until spring 2021, the collaboration encompasses a variety of accessible silhouettes elevated by Sasquatchfabrix.’s attention to detail and Ninja Tune motifs. In homage to the company’s name, ninja and samurai inform the apparel in terms of both cut and design, with monochrome tones that hew especially close to the former’s muted outfits.
Artwork from cobird references Japanese peonies and ukiyo-e, mixing and matching these themes with graphic flourishes, kanji and the occasional all-over print that graces lightweight shirts, coaches and a hanten jacket. Accompanying the more conventional wearables is a duo of stylized accessories, taking the form of a branded bucket hat and adjustable wrap bag.
The collaborative capsule launches March 27 via the websites for BE AT TOKYO, Sasquatchfabrix., Ninja Tune and NEPENTHES London.
Elsewhere in Japan, other seasonal collections were recently debuted from the likes of FORTRESS SOLITUDE, MEANSWHILE and F/CE.
