Rihanna’s Met Gala-themed wax figure divides fans ahead of Super Bowl show

Rihanna was given a wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York and fans are unsure what to make of the Umbrella hit maker’s like-alike.

The iconic museum modelled a RiRi statute off one of her legendary red carpet looks and unveiled the lifelike replica at their Big Apple branch on Wednesday.

Inspired by one of the popstar’s Met Gala outfits, the permanent mould was dressed in Rihanna’s ensemble from the event’s Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination party in 2018.

At the time, the chart-topper navigated the famous steps of the city’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in a striking beaded corset minidress that featured a matching robe by Margiela.

She donned a papal bishop’s hat and extravagant crucifix necklace in reference to the night’s religious theme.

The unveiling of the wax figure – which also has neon lights fitted throughout the statue’s outfit – took place in the Glow Gala Room of the museum in Times Square.
