Will Smith proudly cheered on kids Willow and Jaden as they took to the stage in front of a packed crowd at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival over the weekend.
The King Richard star was beaming as he watched his 22-year-old daughter’s solo set on Sunday night as the festival in the desert rolled on, during which she was joined by her 24-year-old sibling.
Will couldn’t stop smiling in a video he shared from the crowd during the show, soaking up at the atmosphere as he showed the impressive crowd gathered at the Mojave Tent.
He simply captioned the clip: ‘WILLOWCHELLA!!’
His followers loved to see it, with one fan commenting: ‘That’s genuine pride and selfless adoration right there! Not Will being famous, just a proud dad beaming over his child!’
‘Proud dad moments,’ a couple of fans replied, while another person described Will as ‘#dadgoals.’
Jaden proudly wore a T-shirt which read ‘Willow’s brother’ under his black MSFTSrep leather jacket, while Willow sported a black wig as she stepped on stage in a lot of denim for a heavier punk set.
The Whip My Hair hitmaker has been focusing on a pop punk sound since 2021, and treated fans to an energetic show with that in mind.
Kicking things off with t r a n s p a r e n t s o u l before performing the likes of Falling Endlessly, WHY? and Split.
Introducing the anthemic Ur a Stranger, which lets Willow show off her screaming skills, she teased: ‘I know we’ve already been emo for a long time, but we are going to get more emo right now.’
Later in the set, Jaden came on stage to join his sister and her band – which features drummer Aaron Haggerty, guitarist Liso Lee and engineer Zach Brown – for a rendition of their Summertime in Paris collaboration.
The two siblings shared a warm embrace, and sang each other’s praises after the duet with Jaden revealing how proud he is of Willow, who called her brother her favourite person.
She followed the poignant moment up with Meet Me at Our Spot – her collab with Tyler Cole – and brought her show to an end with Wait a Minute!
Willow is yet to comment on the set herself, but earlier this year when she announced her spot on the bill she simply referenced the ‘gratitude’ she felt for being booked.
