Official Images of the Air Jordan 5 "Green Bean"

Michael Jordan influence on sneaker culture is so far beyond his playing days that he’s got a cornucopia of colorways that have reached their own level of iconic status even if he didn’t actually lace them up in-game. One of these iterations is the Air Jordan 5 “Green Bean” which after originally dropping in 2006 is gearing up to receive a retro release this season. After surfacing via early pictures in January, the brand has finally released its official images.

This bring-back is slated to return with all of its original design features from its ‘06 pair. A majority of the uppers are styled with a lighter gray hue and come coated with all-over reflective 3M. “Flint Grey” accents fall just behind this as they are responsible for filling in the various eyelets next to the throat as well as the midsoles. From there, the “Green Bean” hits get their moments to shine on the tongue and heel Jumpman logos, the interior lining and the midsole spikes. An icy outsole rounds everything off down below.

Early reports have this nostalgic makeup dropping on May 28, but SNKRS has not provided confirmation just yet.

Elsewhere in sneaker news, Jordan Brand has merged seven silhouettes to create a new “Two Trey” model.
