Nintendo’s 'Pokémon;-Themed Switch Lite Is a Throwback to Its DS Lite Sibling

In celebration of the launch of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on the Switch, Nintendo is now dropping a new Switch Lite console emblazoned with the two legendary beasts Dialga and Palkia.

For longtime fans of Nintendo and the Pokémon franchise, you’ll recognize the familiar face of the new Switch Lite from its similar-themed DS Lite released back in 2006 in Japan and North America when the original games came out. Just like its predecessor, the upcoming handheld takes on a full gray construction with both Dialga and Palkia depicted on the back in a tasteful gold and silver outlining.

If you’re interested in reliving this nostalgia, the Nintendo Switch Lite Dialga and Palkia Edition will be available on November 5, two weeks before the launch of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl on November 19. Unfortunately, the console comes as a standalone instead of a bundle, so you’ll have to purchase the game separately.
