Already got your fill of Levi’s x Disney? What about Disney x Keith Haring? If neither partnership has slaked your thirst for the works of the late artist, Disney x Keith Haring x Levi’s may be up your alley, emblazoning Haring’s rare Mickey Mouse works atop a series of Levi’s staples, bringing a fresh take to his playfully warped illustrations.
Haring’s inimitable artworks have drawn in plenty of fashion and footwear collaborations already, as his crisp linework, recognizable silhouettes and penchant for pop culture references makes for a perfect fit atop any number of wearables. Indeed, the Levi’s collaboration serves as a perfect blank canvas for the artist’s works, with a series of jackets, hoodies and Future Finish jeans proving to be the perfect vehicle for his larger-than-life renderings of Mickey.
The twist here is that customers are able to create Haring-laden garments that suit their taste. Either online or in-person, shoppers may select one of his designs — ranging from squiggly Mickey faces to square tableaus to intricate hieroglyphic-like works — to print atop a layering piece or denim trouser of their choosing, rearranging the location, size and execution as they see fit.
“As fans of art, and Keith Haring in particular, we wanted to do something that no other Keith Haring collaboration could do,” said Janine Chilton Faust, global VP of design at Levi’s, in a statement. “So we teamed up with our longstanding partner Disney to create this customizable collection, including a build-your-own custom Levi’s trucker acket, that would showcase the expressive, explosive, and playful power of Haring’s iconic Disney Mickey Mouse artwork from the ’80s.”
Shop the Disney x Keith Haring collection on Levi’s website and at its stores April 8. Shoppers can customize the trucker jackets with Haring’s artwork online, at Tailor Shops and Print Bars or purchase two pre-customized all-over printed iterations on the Levi’s App and select stores.
