Doublet Has Turned Stuffed Toy Camels, Alpacas and Cats Into Bags and Scarves

Masayuki Ino‘s Tokyo-based label doublet is no stranger to playing with the shapes and anatomy of animals — just take a look at the brand’s recent Suicoke collaboration for a reminder — and now it has released a trio of animal-themed accessories.

Two bags and two scarves mimic a camel, alpaca, and cat, with the former two being incorporated into a bag and the cat forming the shaping of a scarf. For the camel bag, doublet constructs a bag from faux camel-toned fur that sees a stuffed toy camel coming out of the front, while a tonal leather strap rounds out the bag.

Similarly, the black alpaca bag is made from faux alpaca wool, replicating the fluffy and fuzzy texture of the real animal. A stuffed toy alpaca also looks as if it’s sinking into the bag.

As for the scarf, doublet has hand-knitted it into the shape of a cat from a mixture of wool, nylon, acrylic, mohair, and alpaca. It sits around the neck and has features such as whiskers and orange beady eyes.

Naturally, the doublet accessories don’t come cheap. The bags are priced from ¥61,600 JPY (approximately $560 USD) to ¥94,600 JPY (approximately $860 USD), while the scarf (which also comes in an orange tone) retails for ¥30,800 JPY (approximately $280 USD). The goods can be seen above and purchased from Dover Street Market Ginza now, alongside more animal-themed collection pieces and bags in other sizes.
