Where do the 7 Little Johnstons live and how big is their house?

Amber and Trent Johnston, along with their five children, make up the cast of TLC’s 7 Little Johnstons. Each member of the large Johnston family has achondroplasia, a from of dwarfism affecting the extremities, and Amber and Trent have hustled hard to make life as comfortable as possible for kids Jonah, Elizabeth, Anna, Alex, and Emma.

To that end, they even sold the farmhouse they’d spent years renovating in favor of a home that was a better fit for the whole family. But, in spite of this seemingly positive development, the acquisition of a new house for the Johnston clan wasn’t without setbacks.

The 7 Little Johnstons moved into a gorgeous estate

As revealed by Monsters and Critics, the 7 Little Johnstons stars had to temporarily shack up in a hotel while looking for a new place, renting three separate rooms, which wasn’t exactly cheap or comfortable for them. After two weeks living the hotel life, the Johnston family found their dream home in the same city they’d previously lived: Forysth, Georgia.

The property, which sits on 10 acres and stretches down to the nearby Towaliga River, boasts a pool and plenty of green area. A listing on Truli reveals the house is sizable at 3,660 square feet, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Built in 2005, it’s surrounded by woods and a meadow, with over 450 feet of sandy riverfront to enjoy. As of January 2020, the home was estimated to be worth about $486,000.

The property, while in better shape than their constantly-under-renovation farmhouse, wasn’t completely move-in ready, however, as Monsters and Critics notes, with work required on both Jonah and Alex’s bedrooms. There was also a mold issue to contend with in the office. Thankfully, the Johnstons are now settled happily into their new home.

Whatever happens, the 7 Little Johnstons put each other first

Home drama isn’t the only issue the Johnstons had over the past couple of years, as Amber and Trent continue to be plagued by rumors of an impending divorce. However, the Johnston family matriarch says it’s just going pains, telling Good Housekeeping in April 2019, “We not only hit a big mark with the kids and all of them having their own personalities, but it’s definitely put a heavy strain on Trent and I. We’re at a very challenging mark in our family dynamics and home.”

Whatever happens, though, she and Trent are ready to face it together. “We honestly have always — in all of the challenges that we have faced and continue to face — been a team. We know that a relationship, parenting, and marriage is a constant work in progress. …We don’t give up,” the reality star advised.

As for all the speculation and caring about what other people think, Johnston has a realistic attitude to strangers’ judgment too, explaining, “Our kids, Trent, and myself have dealt with scrutiny, name calling, and discrimination our whole lives. In the grand scheme of things, we have very thick skin and we have to because otherwise we’d just be people who curl up in a corner and never go out.”
