Sir Tom Jones and Priscilla Presley met when the legendary crooner was rising to prominence in the music industry where he had a blossoming friendship with Rock and Roll star Elvis Presley. The Sex Bomb hitmaker has since spoken out about his relationship with the late singer’s former wife.

The 80-year-old was married to his wife Linda Trenchard for 59 years until her death from lung cancer in 2016.

The dating rumours have swirled about his relationship in the years following the death of his wife but the Delilah hitmaker insisted he and Priscilla, 75, are just friends.

Tom also remained close friends with Elvis up until his death in 1977 when he was aged just 42.

The Delilah hitmaker and the American singer even holidayed together in Hawaii.

Speaking about his friendship with Priscilla, Tom divulged: “We’re not dating, but we do go out to dinner.

“A friend of mine, Jeff Franklin, is a TV producer, and he’s got a big house up in L.A. We’ll go up there and have sing-a-longs and things like that.”

He continued: “She’s up there a lot, and so, we talk, and she’s a very dear friend of mine, Priscilla.

“I mean, I met her in the 1960s, and she’s been a friend of mine ever since. But there is nothing romantic, no.”

Tom explained that following the death of his beloved wife Linda he had no intentions of ever getting married again.

He added to People: “There’s no history with anybody else.”

Elvis and Priscilla tied the knot in 1963 until the pair separated just six years later.

Sir Tom Jones, then known as Thomas Woodward, married his childhood sweetheart Melinda Trenchard when they were just 16.

Only a month after their marriage, Linda gave birth to their son Mark, who went on to become Sir Tom’s manager and touring partner.

The couple tied the knot in 1957 and stayed together for 59 years until Linda’s death in 2016.

She became house-bound living in their LA residence and had developed emphysema, amid cancer scares as well as a battle with depression but she remained the “love of his life”.

“I’ve realised she’s had a depression since she was young,” Sir Tom told the Sunday Times Magazine in 2015.

He added: “Linda is the love of my life, and she still is, even though she doesn’t look like she did. I don’t look like I did either, but I try my best. She’s lost her spark.”

Meanwhile, Tom has released his latest album Surrounded By Time and announced some exciting news on Twitter.

He recently penned: “The time has come for my brand new album ‘Surrounded By Time’ to be yours!

“I’m so excited for you to hear these songs, so listen with open ears from start to finish and enjoy this storybook ride through time with me. I hope you love it as much as I do.”
