St. Vincent Performs Cover Of The Beatles’ ‘Martha My Dear’

St. Vincent covered The Beatles‘ “Martha My Dear” for Jack Antonoff‘s 7th annual Ally Coalition Talent Show on Monday night, December 21.

St. Vincent performed the song while playing the guitar, with a rainbow filter on the video.

“Martha My Dear” is from Beatles’ 1968 eponymous double album also known as the “White Album.” Credited to Lennon-McCartney, the song was solely written by Paul McCartney about his Old English Sheepdog, Martha, he owned at the time.

The show also featured Lana Del Rey, Hayley Williams, The Chicks, Antonoff’s own band Bleachers, Maggie Rogers, Brittany Howard, Sleater-Kinney, Spoon, Tierra Whack and more.

The virtual event raised money for LGBTQ+ organizations that support homeless LGBTQ+ youth shelters. The show streamed on Antonoff’s Twitch channel on Monday, December 21 at 9 pm ET.

According to Antonoff, the show raised around $350,000 for homeless LGBTQ+ youth.
