Shinedown has released a never-before-heard song to benefit Direct Relief, a non-profit humanitarian aid organization that is working to fight the coronavirus.
Those who buy a special t-shirt can download the track, titled “Atlas Falls.”
In addition, the rock band will give a $20,000 donation to Direct Relief.
Atlas Falls was written for the 2012 album, Amaryllis.
“Although the song did not make the album, I always felt that one day the world would hear it,” said Shinedown frontman Brent Smith. “It has never been more clear to me than right now that the time has come for ‘Atlas Falls’ to arrive.”
“I have always said and believe to be true that music can heal us all,” he added. “We need music, and each other, now more than ever as we all are witnessing a global pandemic unlike anything we have ever seen in many generations.”
