Serena Williams gives birth! Tennis star welcomes second child with husband Alexis Ohanian

Tennis star Serena Williams has given birth to her second daughter with her husband Alexis Ohanian.

Announcing the news, Serena shared an adorable TikTok video where she is seen sitting with her husband and eldest daughter Olympia, before she goes off camera and comes back cradling her newborn and sitting back down to complete her family.

She captioned the short emotional clip: "Welcome my beautiful angel".

Serena's husband also confirmed the news on social media and revealed the little ones sweet name.

Taking to Twitter, the new dad of two said: "Welcome, Adira River Ohanian.

"I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and happy & healthy mama.

"Feeling grateful. @serenawilliams you've now given me another incomparable gift — you're the GMOAT. Thanks to all the amazing medical staff who took care of my wife & our daughter I'll never forget the moment I introduced @olympiaohanian to her baby sister."

Finishing off the announcement, Alexis added the quote: "Your peace would have been like a river, your well-being like the waves of the sea."

Fans flooded to the comments to send their congratulatory messages to Serena and Reddit founder Alexis on the latest addition to their family.

One fan wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS WHEREVER THERE'S A WOMAN THERE IS MAGIC KEEP POPULATING THE WORLD", while another said: "Congratulations! I hope you feel as wonderful as you look!"

A third added: "Congratulations! This warmed my heart. Sending love and blessings", while another sweet fan said: "Amazing. The greatest athlete of all time AND a mom. Incredible!!".

Serena announced her second pregnancy in style (literally) when she attended the 2023's Met Gala in New York earlier this year.

The tennis star debuted her baby bump on the cream carpet, telling Vogue magazine: “There’s three of us here. I’m good, I’m really good now. I can breathe, I can stop, I’m not hiding but… yeah.”

The seven time Wimbledon champion, who last year revealed that Prince Harry helped with her decision to retire from tennis, wore a monochromatic Gucci outfit with Art Deco-inspired detailing on the skirt, with multiple strings of pearls around her neck and a layered pearl headband. Her husband Alexis Ohanian sported a classic black tuxedo.

Serena and Alex, who got married back in November 2017, are now proud parents to two daughters.
