Churchill. Lloyd-George. Gladstone…many illustrious names have graced the hallowed floors of the Palace of Westminster over the last century or two.
Now another name can be added to that list….Blue’s Lee Ryan.
The Strictly star made his debut in the prestigious halls of power when he was invited to a charity bash being hosted by Tory MP Bob Stewart last week.
But the singer’s foray into parliament nearly ended in disaster – after he was spotted by teenage fans on a school trip, and caused so much commotion house security were forced to step in.
Such was the level of hysteria, that one gobsmacked passing MP quipped: “Perhaps he should be the next PM.”
“It was pandemonium,” says our source.
“Lee was suddenly surrounded by about 50, mainly female fans, who were jostling around him, screaming and shouting.
"Such was the commotion, house security had to run over and intervene.”
Security then escorted Lee as he quick-stepped his way to a dining room where Imperium investments were holding the bash in aid of St George’s Hospital Charity.
“Lee reacted like a pro. Nothing fazed him,” says the source.
Strong and stable under pressure?
Maybe it’s time to All Rise for PM Ryan after all…
