The Queen's grandson Peter Phillips has settled his divorce with ex Autumn after announcing their split last February.

Peter, who is the son of Anne, Princess Royal, and Mark Phillips, and his former wife Autumn released a joint statement on the proceedings, confirming they resolved "the financial aspects" at the High Court.

A spokesperson for the couple, who share daughters Savannah,10, and nine year old Isla, shared the statement, which read: "Mr Peter Phillips and Mrs Autumn Phillips are pleased to be able to report that the financial aspects of their divorce have been resolved through agreement, the terms of which have been approved and ordered by the High Court today.

"Whilst this is a sad day for Peter and Autumn, they continue to put the wellbeing and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla first and foremost."

It went on: "Both Peter and Autumn are pleased to have resolved matters amicably with the children firmly at the forefront of those thoughts and decisions.

"Peter & Autumn have requested privacy and consideration for their children as the family adapts to a new chapter in their lives."

Princess Anne's son Peter, 43, who was reportedly asked to stand between Prince William and Harry at Prince Philip's funeral, is the first of the 95 year old monarch's grandchildren to divorce.

Peter and Autumn met at the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix, where she was working for the Canadian Security Intelligence Service. After settling in the UK, the pair went on to tie the knot at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2008.

Last year, a spokesperson for the couple released a statement that revealed Peter and Autumn informed the Queen about their divorce in 2019.

They said: "The following statement is issued on behalf of both Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn Phillips following recent press speculation over their marriage.

"As both Peter and Autumn are not senior members of the Royal Family, it was not felt necessary to formally announce their separation last year. However in light of media commentary the following statement is issued."

"After informing HM The Queen and members of both families last year, Peter and Autumn jointly agreed to separate. They had reached the conclusion that this was the best course of action for their two children and ongoing friendship. The decision to divorce and share custody came about after many months of discussions and although sad, is an amicable one.

"The couples first priority will remain the continued well being and upbringing of their wonderful daughters Savannah and Isla.

"Both families were naturally sad at the announcement, but fully supportive of Peter and Autumn in the joint decision to co parent their children.

"Both Autumn and Peter will remain in Gloucestershire to bring up their two children where they have been settled for a number of years. Peter & Autumn have requested privacy and compassion for their children while the family continues to adapt to these changes."
