Piers Morgan pays tribute to Geoff Hill as ITV news editor dies aged 52

Piers Morgan has paid tribute to his late colleague Geoff Hill following his death aged 52.

Hill, who had been battling leukaemia since 2017, died surrounded by his family after being admitted to hospital in London last week.

Former Good Morning Britain presenter Piers followed Susanna Reid in remembering their friend and co-worker, and in a post shared on social media, he penned: ‘What incredibly sad news.

‘A brilliant journalist beloved by his newsroom colleagues, and a great guy who fought his illness with such courage and good humour.

‘Had the honour of working with him at CNN & ITV and he was a class act, both professionally & personally. RIP Geoff.’

Susanna also paid tribute on Twitter, writing: ‘Above all else, Geoff was a thoroughly lovely man. This is so, so sad. Sending love to his wonderful family.’
