Peter Andre warns fans over sick scam as impostors try to steal thousands

Peter Andre has warned fans to be vigilant after sick fraudsters allegedly tried to trick some into parting with thousands of pounds.

The Australian singer said followers on Facebook , Instagram and Twitter have been targeted by the con, whereby tricksters attempt to get fans to pay for fake meet-and-greets.

And Peter only found out about it when one fan got in touch to see if he had really requested her as a friend on Facebook.

"I was like, ‘No, that’s definitely not me!’" he writes in his column for new! magazine .

"Then another got in touch to say the people pretending to be me tried to get thousands of pounds out of her. They’ve also been messaging people saying I’m going to be at a certain place at a certain time when I’m not," he continued.

"This has not turned into an investigation, so if you receive a message on Facebook Messenger, Instagram or Twitter asking for any kind of money or bank details, please do not reply – report it," he warned.

Meanwhile, the father-of-four’s weekly instalment featured no mention of his beef with ex-wife Katie Price , who launched into an extraordinary rant about him on yesterday’s Good Morning Britain.

When host Piers Morgan asked about her split from third husband Kieran Hayler, she suddenly went off track and demanded to talk about ‘husband number one.’

"I’ll tell you about husband number one," she raged.

"So I’m doing my reality show at the moment and I’m actually really cheesed off with Pete, I’m not asking you to comment because you can’t be biased.

"So people are going to be watching my show wondering ‘Where is Junior and Princess?’ He won’t allow me to film with them, he won’t allow me to do photo shoots with them and he’s been such a hypocrite.

"But unfortunately at this stage you need both parents’ permission, so I just want to but it out there that he’s incredibly selfish and the kids miss out on it.

"I don’t know why he’s doing it."

Awkwardly, that very same day Pete’s wife Emily wrote of their plans to allow their daughter Amelia, five, t o go into showbusiness when the time is right .
