Asserting its supremacy among seasonal songs, Mariah Carey‘s iconic holiday anthem “All I Want For Christmas Is You” returned to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“Carey’s ‘Christmas,’ on Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings, drew 54.9 million U.S. streams (up 35%) and sold 12,000 downloads (up 24%) in the week ending Dec. 24, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data,” Billboard reported.
This is for the fifth time that the holiday classic ranks first in the chart’s 64-year history.
“All I Want for Christmas Is You” also led the Holiday 100 for a 45th week.
2020 marks the 25th anniversary of the multi-Grammy award-winning artist’s iconic No. 1 holiday anthem.
Carey also holds the record for the most number of weeks – 84 – at No. 1 on Hot 100, followed by Rihanna, The Beatles, Boyz II Men and Drake.
