It was revealed on Saturday evening that the Prime Minister is said to have engaged in a “sexual affair” with an American businesswoman. The alleged infidelity is said to have happened during Boris’ time as Mayor of London, between 2012 and 2016.

What a shock. Said nobody.

Boris, 56, and Jennifer Arcuri, 35, reportedly met up once a week during their relationship, with Mr Johnson meeting Arcuri hours before sitting alongside members of The Royal Family at the London 2012 Paralympics opening ceremony.

During the time of the supposed infidelity, Boris was married to his second wife, lawyer Marina Wheeler, 56, who he shares four children with.

Ms Arcuri told how she “loved” Boris and the pair shared a “physical and intellectual” attraction but noted that he is “cowardly” for not standing up for her.

After the news broke, television favourite Lorraine Kelly, 61, took to social media to have her say on the news.

Tweeting for her 640,200 followers to see, Lorraine shared an article revealing the news alongside her own comment: “What a shock. Said nobody.”

However, this isn’t the first time Lorraine has taken a swipe at Ms Arcuri’s alleged relationship with the Prime Minister.

Back in June 2020, Arcuri was appearing on Good Morning Britain and slammed Boris’ treatment of her in the months leading up to her appearance.

The businesswoman claimed that the Prime Minister had abruptly ended a phone call between the pair just days before she spoke to Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid.

While being quizzed by Piers and Susanna, Arcuri refused to acknowledge rumours that she and Boris had engaged in an affair during their decade long friendship.

A very disgruntled Lorraine later appeared on the show via split-screen and was asked by Piers what would be happening on her show later in the morning.

Seizing the moment, Lorraine took aim at Ms Arcuri, leading Piers to ask her to repeat her dig.

While both Arcuri and Lorraine appeared on screen, the Scottish presenter said: “What’s the point in you coming on air to clear the air and not saying anything?”

Floored by the question, Arcuri simply responded: “I’m sorry?” before Lorraine asked once again.

However, Arcuri proceeded to say: “I believe I said a few things. What was it that you were looking for that I didn’t say?”

“You didn’t answer any of the questions put to you, I don’t see the point of you being on anyway”, replied Lorraine.

Speaking to The Sunday Mirror this weekend, Arcuri said of Boris not standing up for her: “It’s embarrassing, what a child. You can’t get on the phone and say, ‘Look, Jen, this is crazy, welcome to politics’?

“He just took the most cowardly, wet noodle of approaches. This is who he is and it’s about time we recognised that.”

The American volunteered on Boris’ campaign to be re-elected as Mayor of London in 2012, months after they first met at an event while she was a business student.

It’s said that Boris had happily attended restaurants and swanky bars with her during their relationship.

The pair saw their affair come to an end in 2016 when Arcuri met her now-husband, Matthew Hickey.
