Lauren Goodger ‘in hiding with suspected broken eye socket after assault’

Lauren Goodger has reportedly gone into hiding after allegedly being attacked and left with facial injuries following her late daughter Lorena's funeral.

Lauren, 35, and Charles Drury, 25, are parents to one year old Larose together and they welcomed their second daughter last month, Lorena, who tragically died soon after being born.

Less than a month after Lorena’s passing, Lauren was reported to have been assaulted and taken to hospital following their daughter's heartbreaking funeral.

According to The Sun, Lauren is now staying with a friend at a secret address over fears she might bump into the person who allegedly attacked her.

The publication also claims she's waiting for X-ray results that will give more insight into her facial injuries.

“Lauren is absolutely terrified. This has shaken her badly," a source told the publication. “She suffered some nasty injuries and fears she has suffered a broken eye socket.

“She’s still in a lot of pain and is waiting for the X-ray results to see how serious it is.”

The source added: “Lauren is now in hiding with a friend… She is very shaken by this situation.”

OK! has approached Lauren's representatives for further comment.

In a statement from Metropolitan Police, they confirmed that a man had been arrested on suspicion of assault earlier this week.

The statement shared with OK! Online read: “Police were called at 00:37hrs on Thursday, 4 August to reports of an altercation at a residential address in Upminster, Essex. Officers attended. At the scene a woman, aged 30s, was found with facial injuries.

“A man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was taken to an east London police station and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries.”

The news of Lauren’s assault comes after the mum-of-one spoke to OK! about her heartbreak over losing her daughter Lorena.

“When I get into bed in the evening, I just want Lorena there next to me,” she told us. “I feel like I can keep strong in the day for Larose, but at night, that’s when it just hits me. That’s when I feel really, really sad and I miss her so much."

Lauren continued: "Lorena has a teddy with her now and I’ve got a matching one, which I keep with me. When I say my final goodbye to her, I’m going to swap them over. I’m going to have the one she’s had, and she will have the one I’ve had.”

“She was just perfect,” Lauren continued. “She was very, very much like Larose. She had beautiful black hair and blue eyes. She had big lips, a tiny little nose and a lovely skin tone. She looked like a really healthy and solid baby.”
