A longtime confidant of Kim Kardashian has written a searing roman à clef featuring a heroine similar to the star who sells her sex tape for millions on the orders of her mother, Page Six has learned.
Longtime tabloid editor Kevin Dickson was close pals with Kardashian from the mid-2000s until her 2011 divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries and acted as her go-between with celebrity weeklies including In Touch and Life & Style.
Dickson has already penned two successful books, “Blind Item” and “Guilty Pleasure,” which were thinly veiled accounts of his experiences in the seamy world of Paris Hilton-era Hollywood. But he’s kept the secrets of the Kardashians — until now. The new tome, “Post Famous,” appears to answer some questions about the family’s rise to fame.
In an excerpt seen by Page Six, a woman named Zia Zandrian (who has a whole lot in common with Kardashian) calls an editor named Chauncey Toliver (who has whole lot in common with Dickson) and announces that she’s just got paid $5 million for a sex tape.
In the book — billed for legal reasons as a “fairy tale” — Toliver says, “I thought you didn’t want to release it?,” to which Zandrian replies, “I don’t. But like Mom says, when else am I likely to earn $5 million? Like, what if I pass this up and I never get the chance again?”
When Toliver tries to talk her out of it, Zandrian says, “It’s too late, Chauncey . . . The tape is going to come out anyway. There’s nothing I can do to stop it. At least this way, I’m rich.”
Kardashian’s infamous sex tape with Ray J was released in 2007 by Vivid Entertainment, and its founder Steven Hirsch has denied persistent rumors that Kris Jenner was involved in its sale as “nonsense.” However he did confirm they paid Kim to release the footage, and would not dispute rumors her fee was as much as $5 million — yet a lawyer for the star has said that figure was “greatly inflated.” Jenner has also denied leaking Kim’s sex tape.
Reps didn’t get back to us.
