Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have reportedly postponed their wedding due to fears over the coronavirus outbreak.
The pair, who have just revealed they’re expecting their first child together, were said to be all set to celebrate the big day in summer.
However, in the wake of the outbreak, it’s now been pushed back.
An insider told PEOPLE: ‘It was all set for Japan with 150 guests. Katy was actually really excited about walking down the aisle pregnant.
‘They were both so elated that all the wedding details were finally coming together, but they are hitting pause because of coronavirus.’
The 35-year-old singer sparked pregnancy rumours when she debuted the music video for her new song, Never Worn White, in which she appears cradling her baby bump.
Shortly after, Katy confirmed the pregnancy news in an Instagram Live and told her followers: ‘There’s a lot that’s happening this summer. Not only will I be giving birth, literally, and figuratively… to something you guys have been waiting for.
‘I’m excited, we’re excited, and happy. It’s probably the longest secret I’ve ever had to keep. I thought I would tell you guys in the best way through a piece of music.’
She added: ‘While it’s not the lead single, it’s a good way to start out. I had to reveal it [the pregnancy] at some point. It’s getting pretty obvious.’
Meanwhile, the pair have been going full steam ahead with their wedding plans, with the singer revealing that they’re ‘united’ in their approach to the big day.
‘It’s not about the party it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self,’ she explained.
Katy began dating the Pirates of the Caribbean actor in 2016, although they split a year later. Thankfully, they reunited in April 2018 and have been going strong ever since.
Celebrating the one-year anniversary of their engagement, Katy shared a sweet photo of her and Orlando posing in front of a heart-shaped flower wall and said: ‘One year ago I said yes to a life of love and evolution… and definitely never a dull moment.’
Let’s hope they get their big day soon!
