Kate Wright has hit back at a cruel troll who made snide comments about her expensive Christmas vacay to the Maldives with fiancé Rio Ferdinand and his kids.
Former footballer Rio shared a shot of the family dining at the exclusive 5.8 Undersea restaurant, which boasts glass walls and ceilings, captioning it, "Lunch in the sea… What a place with the family… I was dribbling at this point."
But Kate suddenly intervened when a hater left a since-deleted comment, calling out their no-expense-spared trip.
"Money doesn’t make looking after 3 children that have lost their mum easier," Kate replied in reference to Rio’s late wife Rebecca, who died from breast cancer in 2015.
"Yes we can have nice holidays but money can’t bring back loved ones and heal grief," she continued.
"Looking after children and caring for them comes from the heart not from the bank."
Other followers immediately threw their weight behind Kate, with one applauding her reply.
"Well said – you & Rio are navigating your own path, making new family memories whilst respecting the huge memories of loved ones lost," the fan wrote.
"Ignore the negativity and stupid comments. Happy smiles round your family dinner table (wherever that table may be located) is all that matters."
"So true no amount of money will heal their pain but you are making their lives better and making memories which will heal some of their hurt," agreed another.
"Your a lovely family and l am sure their mum is happy knowing her children are loved and looked after with or without money xx"
"Amen to that you are doing a fantastic job and ignore the small minded comments," echoed a third.
"No matter what money you have in the bank £5 or £5 million. Money can’t buy happiness or help the loss of losing a parent. I would give all my money to have my Dad back for me and a grandad for my children. Making memories is so important and you are doing just that. Well done to you both."
And a fourth advised, "Don’t lower yourself into replying to ignorant hateful people You have brought happiness back into Rio and his children. I am sure Rebecca is smiling down on you all xxx"
Kate quit her reality TV career after meeting Rio at the start of 2017, explaining that she wanted to devote herself to looking after his three children.
"When I did that everyone thought I was crazy. My mum was thinking, ‘Oh my god!’" she previously said.
"I felt like I had two choices. I was in this world that had a lot of drama, it was very public. They had lost their mum, they don’t need a woman who is going to be out everywhere. They need someone who’s going to be home with them to give them love," she explained.
"Of course, Rebecca is their mum. You only have one mum. A mum is irreplaceable. There is a special room in the house for their mum and their nan. It has all photos. We celebrate big occasions, Rebecca’s birthday and Mother’s Day. We all go to the cemetery together. We do talk about their mum."
