Johnny Depp, 59, was pictured making a surprise visit to his hometown of Owensboro, Kentucky, over the weekend. The actor was seen posing with fans during his quick trip as they were told to keep his visit under wraps, Fox19Now reported.

It comes after it was reported that Johnny, who has been touring with musician Jeff Beck, could possibly make a return to the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise after being dropped from the film during his legal battle with his ex-wife Amber Heard.

It is well known that Johnny grew up in Owensboro and still has family living in the area, and the actor happily posed for snaps with locals during his visit.

It has since been rumoured the Hollywood actor is set to “return” as Jack Sparrow in the iconic role.

The veteran actor has reportedly been in talks with Disney about a “$300 million deal” after winning his defamation trial against Amber.

He first took on the role 17 years ago and was the major lead, before finally bowing out in the 2017 film Dead Men Tell No Tales.

The insider revealed that Disney are interested in patching up the relationship with Johnny and have recently reached out to him.

According to Poptopic, an insider said: “They reached out to the actor prior to his defamation trial against Amber Heard and asked whether he would be interested in returning for another pirate film or two.

“The deal is reportedly for Johnny Depp to return as Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and a spin-off Disney Plus series about the early life of the Captain of The Black Pearl.”

They added: “What I can tell you is that the studio has already penned up a draft for a film about Jack Sparrow so they are very hopeful that Johnny will forgive them and return as his iconic character.”

The Edward Scissorhands star previously told the jury he would not work with Disney again after he was scrubbed from the sixth Pirates movie.

Elsewhere, it has since been revealed, the American star is hitting the road with his star-studded rock band, Hollywood Vampires.

Hollywood Vampires is made up of Depp, Alice Cooper, his guitarist Tommy Henriksen, and Aerosmith’s guitarist Joe Perry.

The stars have been stagnant over the last few years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now they’re going on tour in the UK next summer.

This month the band announced six dates across the UK throughout July 2023, beginning in Scarborough and ending in Glasgow, Scotland.

It comes after their 2020 tour was cancelled, just a matter of months after the release of their second album, Rise.
