Body Coach Joe Wicks announces return of ‘PE with Joe’
Joe Wicks, 34, has been inundated with messages from relieved parents after the star announced he will be rebooting his YouTube PE classes following news of the third coronavirus lockdown. The Body Coach’s 20-minute classes became popular with parents and children who were stuck inside during the first school shutdown in the spring.
The fitness instructor’s classes will now be streamed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9am.
Joe shared his plans in an Instagram video, in which he said: “Hello to all the parents and teachers out there.
“This is a message to let you know that as of Monday 11 January I am bringing PE with Joe back three days a week live on the Body Coach TV.”
He added in view of his 3.9 million followers: “I am hoping three days is going to help young children and families get through this difficult time when schools are closed, to bring some energy, to change their mood, lift their spirits and their mental health.

“And to kick their day off with something positive.”
He continued to explain in his caption: “PE with Joe is back.
“Starting Monday the 11th January at 9am on my YouTube channel. I am committing to 3 live sessions per week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am(UK time) They will be 20 minutes long and designed for children.
“Please please share this with as many families as you can and let your schools know so they can notify the parents ASAP and we can get as many young children taking part.
“This is so important for our children’s emotional and mental health Lots of love Joe.”
Parents took to the comments section of Joe’s post to share their thoughts on his announcement.
One person said: “Thank you, Joe. Despite earlier chuckling at a post aligning you and lockdowns to Michael Bublé thawing in time for Christmas (sorry), I’m sure I speak for all parents when I say, top bloke. It is genuinely appreciated.”
Another added: “Joe you are an absolute legend! Do you know, while sitting here wondering if we are going into lockdown, I thought ‘Wonder if Joe’s doing his PE sessions?’. Absolute hero!”

A third fan said: “We will be there you are such an amazing person Joe.”
A fourth parent replied: “Yay!!! Fair play Joe Myself and my children are so happy about this Thankyou!!”
A fifth Instagram user commented: “Woohoo! You will be seeing my class, we are learning at home and last time PE with Joe was the highlight of our day!”
A sixth fan wrote: “So thankful to hear this – you’re a star doing this!”
Joe also took to Instagram last night to open up after Prime Minister Boris Johnson tightened England’s restrictions again.
“For me personally, I’m so emotional. ‘I’m thinking about all the people out there that are struggling and that have got families and kids, living in tiny little flats, who can’t afford healthy food and heating,” he said.
“I was one of those kids, I was living in a council flat 30 years ago when I was a kid. I was one of [those] people and I can’t help but feel for these families and businesses that are struggling.”
He later added: “I’m trying to let you know that it’s okay to be upset and feel down right now, and it’s okay to not be this really strong person all the time.”
