Holly Willoughby’s team will ‘need to come up with the goods’ amid the fallout from her former co-host Phillip Schofield’s scandalous admission that he had an affair with a much younger man.
The star has been keen to distance herself from her ex-‘bestie’ following his shock confession, as the Mail revealed that he met the younger man when he was just 15.
Holly, who had shared the This Morning sofa with Schofield for 13 years, said in a statement that he denied reports of the fling to her, and that it had been ‘very hurtful to now find out that this was a lie’.
Now the team behind ITV’s golden girl, including her advisers, agents and lawyers, will need to deliver to guarantee her future, a PR guru has claimed.
The bubbly daytime TV host, who has reportedly been labelled ITV’s ‘great hope’ after Schofield was ousted from the show, is currently on a two week early holiday with her family.

Willoughby said on Instagram that it had ‘taken time to process’ the bombshell revelations about her ex co-host
It comes amid reports that Holly’s career as a presenter with ITV might be hanging by a thread as questions are raised about who at the channel knew about Schofield’s relationship.
But friends of Ms Willoughby told The Mail on Sunday that she has ‘absolutely no plans to leave This Morning,’ and that she was ‘looking forward to going back when she is back from her half-term break’.
PR guru Mark Borkowski told GBNews that Holly’s team need to deliver for the TV personality as he discussed her future at ITV.
‘She is a commodity for ITV, they have invested in her,’ he said, pointing to the ‘ageism’ controversy surrounding her replacing Fern Britton on the show as an example.
‘What she does next, her PR advisers, agents, and lawyers are going to have to come up with the goods,’ he explained.
He added that the media storm surrounding the scandal has been a PR nightmare.
‘So far the way that this has been handled by publicists involved with this is akin to looking for a gas leak with a lit match,’ he said.
Friends of Holly have denied that she had any knowledge of Schofield’s affair, and she has now claimed she was lied to
Holly is managed by her own agency, Roxy Management, which she set up in 2020 after quitting the talent agency YMU Group, which she had shared with Schofield
Her split with the agency, where Schofield is a stakeholder according to The Sun, reportedly caused a rift between the pair.
They have shared a strained relationship for months, according to reports, with awkward exchanges on the This Morning sofa picked apart by experts.
‘This rift that was much reported, that heralded this chain of events,’ Mr Borkowski said.
‘Did they all know that something was coming down the pipe? Did they know it was going to break?’

Following his departure from This Morning, there has been speculation around how much those involved in the show knew about Schofield’s fling with the younger man.
The affair took place while Schofield was with his wife of 27 years, Stephanie Lowe.
Friends of Holly denied that she had any knowledge of the affair, telling The Mail on Sunday: ‘Holly didn’t know about this and she is very upset to have learned the truth.
‘She has been lied to as well. It has all been very traumatic for her and a time of real sadness.
‘Phil was her very close friend, they shared so much time together, had so many laughs and supported one another through difficult times. This is all a shock.’
