Holly Willoughby sparks parenting debate after taking kids Down Under

Holly Willoughby is no stranger to posting photos of her children on Instagram but there has been a backlash to a few of her recent snaps from Australia.

The 37-year-old TV presenter has been lauded for her I’m A Celebrity appearance, which she hosted in place of Ant McPartlin, but there haan’t been such a positive reaction to the last of her pics from Down Under.

After three weeks in the jungle, Holly posted a goodbye to Oz, which had her three children looking out at Sydney Opera House, as Holly looks at the camera.

She captioned the pic with, "Australia… you are beautiful and brilliant! This feels like a dream ago…"

While there was plenty of sweet sentiments for the This Morning presenter, there were a number of people that posed a similar question.

With 4.8 milllion followers, there was always going to be a big reaction to the image but Holly would have been slightly distressed at the path the comments took as they questioned why her children were not in school.

Holly had decided to take the whole family for the trip, with husband Dan Baldwin and her parents joining the kids and had explained her decision on This Morning.

She said: "The weird thing is, when I first found out, it’s very exciting… and then you’re working out the logistics of how you’re going to go and how long for, and the kids are coming with me.

"I was speaking to the school and how that’s all going to work and Dan and my mum and dad who are coming out as well and suddenly all logistics are sorted."

This left Holly open to sniping from those that felt it was unfair that she was able to take her children out of school, when others are not granted that privilege.

One person commented that Holly was, "flaunting school holiday rules," while others bemoaned that they would be fined if they took their children out of school during term time.

It wasn’t all flack though as some pointed out that Holly probably had a private tutor with her, so that her children didn’t miss out on any lessons.

What was agreed was that Holly being away from her kids for the duration of I’m A Celebrity was not a feasible solution, so she was praised for thinking of her family when taking on the job.

It seemed to be the right choice as well, with Holly revealing that the kids "loved it" and that the trip had been a "one-off bit of heaven."
