Hilary Swank, 48, reveals she is pregnant with twins: ‘It’s a total miracle’

Hilary Swank is expecting twins with her husband Philip Schneider.

The babies will be the pair's first children together, and come fours years etc

The P.S I Love You actress was previously married to Chad Lowe for 10 years, but they didn’t have any kids together.

Sharing their exciting news, Hilary, 48, told Good Morning America hosts Robin Roberts, Lara Spencer, George Stephanopoulos and Michael Strahan: “I’m so happy to share [the news] with you and with America right now. This is something I’ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is that I’m going to be a mom.”

Hilary was then met with applause from the hosts and camera crew, as she continued: “And not just to the one, but to two. I can’t believe it!”

She went on to reveal that she is in her second trimester and labelled her pregnancy as a “total miracle”.

"I'm feeling great right now, even with the time — you know, I'm on Pacific time, so I'm a little cross-eyed with that. But I'm feeling good right now," the movie star added.

Apparently twins run in both her and her husband’s families.

While Hilary was undeniably ecstatic to share their joyful news, she didn’t want to share her due date.

She’s since taken to Instagram to share a snap of her debuting her blossoming bump as she quipped: “Coming soon…DOUBLE feature!”

Her celeb pals were quick to congratulate her on her pregnancy, with Kate Hudson leading the comments.

“What what what!!! Yeah”, she began, followed with a string of heart emojis. “Congrats my friend”.

“Jeffrey and I are so excited for you!!!” added One Tree Hill’s Hilarie Burton while referring to her actor husband Jeffrey Morgan.

“CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! This is such amazing news!!!!!” added someone else, as a fourth went on: “Wonderful! So happy for you.”

“Congratulations!!!! So so happy for you,” added journalist Katie Couric.

Hilary was on the popular American morning show earlier today to plug her upcoming series Alaska Daily, where she plays investigative journalist Eileen Fitzgerald.

It’s set for release tomorrow, Thursday 6 October, on ABC and Hulu.

The synopsis given for the series reads: “Recently disgraced reporter Eileen Fitzgerald leaves her high-profile New York life behind to join a daily metro newspaper in Anchorage, Alaska, on a journey to find both personal and professional redemption.”
