EMILY PRESCOTT: Jude Law's daughter and Emma Corrin follow sock rage

EMILY PRESCOTT: It’s all about socks appeal as Jude Law’s daughter Iris and The Crown’s Emma Corrin sport the latest autumn fashion rage

Could statement socks be all the rage this autumn? Never one to shy away from a fashion quirk, Iris Law daughter of actor Jude, sported a sheer knee-high sock at a Marc Jacobs event in London last week while Emma Corrin, Princess Diana in The Crown, opted for boyish white ankle socks at the premiere of Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Is this another indication of the cost-of-living crisis? Chanel has decided against launching another expensive advent calendar.

Last Christmas it provoked a social-media backlash for padding out its £610 festive offering with stickers and plastic keyrings. It also missed out the first four days of December…

Crush of the week… Coco Fennell

Creativity clearly runs in fashion designer Coco Fennell’s family. Her dad is jewellery designer Theo Fennell and her sister is actress Emerald.

Chatting at the launch of Daniel Sachon’s ‘Bitches’ photography exhibition in London, 33-year-old Coco, left, tells me she is considering buying some of his pictures of naked girls for her house, asking me: ‘Is that weird?’ Coco’s funky designs hang in Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton’s closets but she says she has ‘no Royals’ among her customers… yet.

But after her sister played Camilla in The Crown, perhaps she can persuade the real Queen Consort to sport one of her creations.

Shane keen to rock ’n’ stroll

Seven years after breaking his pelvis, Pogues hellraiser Shane MacGowan is still in a wheelchair.

But he reckons he’ll soon be in better health – and back walking – after quitting the fags.

Shane, 64, said he hoped to be back on his feet ‘in about six months’. Glass in hand, the Fairytale Of New York singer clearly loved the party for The Eternal Buzz And The Crock Of Gold, an exhibition of his Biro drawings, with wife Victoria Mary Clarke, 56, and old pal Kate Moss, 48, in West London.
