Emily Andrea has spoken on her hopes to work with Azaylia Cain’s mum Safiyya Vorajee on the foundation she created following her little girl’s passing.
Emily met Safiyya at the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards last month.
Writing exclusively in her OK! column, the NHS doctor said: “It was also lovely to meet Azaylia Cain’s mum Safiyya Vorajee.
“It was so nice to be able to tell her in person how I have followed her journey. I’ve always admired her strength in sharing Azaylia’s story.
“Hopefully we’ll keep in touch as she’s doing some work with her foundation for Azaylia and I’d love to get involved.”
Safiyya shared a snap of herself posing with the Andre family at the awards ceremony on her Instagram.
She captioned the shot: “What an honour to attend The pride of Britain, the love that was shown for Azaylia by so many really filled me up & touched my heart she really is an inspiration & will always be my hero.
“I spent a lot of my night in tears from the stories of the unsung hero’s, they are so inspirational and was an honour to be in the same room, Thursday when you watch the show you will be too.
“I also met some real inspirational people that supported, donated & really believe in our foundation to fight fearlessly against childhood cancer.”
The Azaylia Foundation is a non-profit organisation started by Safiyya and her partner Ashley Cain in memory of their daughter Azaylia Diamond Cain.
The charity supports children battling cancer.
Azaylia passed away in April aged eight months after a long battle with leukaemia.
Ashley Cain shared the devastating news of his baby daughter’s death on Instagram as he posted a picture of him holding her in his arms.
He wrote: “Rest In Paradise Princess. I will always hold you in my heart until I can hold you again in heaven. #AzayliaDiamondCain.”

Safiyya also too shared a heartbreaking tribute to their baby girl alongside a snap of herself cuddling Azaylia.
She wrote: “You are my Angel my heartbeat my soul, RIP my precious baby, you will always be with me like a handprint on my heart.”
The infant was just two months old when she was first diagnosed with an aggressive and rare form of the blood cancer and had been receiving care at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
