Drake announces ‘It’s all a blur’ tour with 21 Savage
Drake has sent fans into a frenzy recently after sparking speculation he was behind the $1.02million purchase of Tupac’s famous crown ring – which he wore just days before he was murdered in 1995.
The ring in question sold last month at auction in New York for a seven-digit sum, despite originally being evaluated at an estimate of between $200,000 and $300,000.
Tupac wore the ring during his appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 4, 1996, which was nine days before he was shot dead by an unidentified individual in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.
The hip-hop legend is said to have personally designed and commissioned the flashy ring over the course of a few months following his time behind bars.
Along with the many high-quality diamonds and rubies, the ring has the words “Pac & Dada 1996,” engraved on it, which was a nod to his girlfriend Kidada Jones at the time.

But now it seems the eye-catching piece is in the hands of Canadian-born rapper Drake, who has not kept his pricey purchase on the lowkey and he has also made no secret of his undying love for the slain hip-hop legend either.
Recently Drake shared an Instagram Story with his 141 million followers, which showed him holding a crown-shaped ring between his finger and thumb, that showed an uncanny resemblance to Tupac’s one.
Drake captioned his post: “Utopia out now Meltdown #TravisScott,” as he promoted his new single with fellow rapper Travis Scott.
But Drake has shown his love for the late rap legend in other ways too.

Although many may believe dishing out over $1million to buy some Tupac memorabilia is enough to show his love for the star Drake also apparently has Tupac’s songs playing in the toilets in his house.
“Every bathroom in his house, when you walk up to the toilet, it opens and starts playing 2Pac’Hit ‘Em Up,” rapper Lil Yachty revealed during a conversation with Twitch streamer Kai Cenat earlier this year.
“I swear to God! Every time it’s like, ‘Yeah, you fat muthaf**ka!’ It’s so annoying when you gotta take a s**t ’cause it keeps looping,” he added.
The Rich Flex singer further revealed his adoration for Tupac in December 2022, when he revealed that the rap legend was his most-listened-to artist that year after sharing his Spotify Wrapped with his Instagram followers.
The stats showed that Drake had spent a whopping 246 minutes listening to the artist, putting him in the top seven per cent of Tupac’s fans on Spotify.

And if that wasnt enough to prove Drake could potentially be Tupac’s biggest fan, in July 2020, he showed off twin Jesus pieces featuring the late Changes rapper.
In a video posted by a bespoke jewellery account @jasonofbeverlyhills on Instagram, fans could see an intricately detailed model of Tupac’s head which was encrusted with sparkly diamonds.
According to Complex, approximately “five weeks and 150 hours went into the completion of the tribute pieces”, which began with an original concept brought to creator Jason by Drake himself.
The piece has been estimated to be worth an eyewatering total of $600,000 and is made of “70 carats of flawless white and natural yellow diamonds, as well as over half of a kilo of gold in total,” as per the outlet.
