BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker, 43, is also a firm fixture on Football Focus where he admitted he was “really sorry” after an on-air blunder. The presenter took to Twitter and addressed the situation after he thought Love Island star Josh Denzel swore on the show but has since claimed it was in fact a Zoom line error.

In view of his 660,000 Twitter followers, Dan took the opportunity to address the blunder.

He penned: “Really sorry about the swearing you might have heard on #FootballFocus today.

“I know a lot of kids watch the show and we are trying to work out what happened. Apologies.”

Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one person asked: “I missed it. What was said. I haven’t sworn in years.”

Another person quipped: “Trying to work out what happened lol. It’s pretty clear.”

While a third person added: “Missed it. Can you repeat it?”

Dan has since confirmed that after an investigation he was clearly mistaken.

He wrote: “UPDATE: We’ve investigated and @Josh_Denzel1 didn’t swear on #FootballFocus today.

“It was the combination of trying to say: Five marathons, In, For Calmzone (which is the charity) & a dodgy zoom line. Sorry if you had to have a surprising conversation with your children.”
