Rachel Riley, 35, who is expecting her second child with husband Pasha Kovalev, 41, welcomed daughter Maven into the world back in 2019. In a recent episode of Countdown, she revealed the plans she had in place for what she believed was going to be a long labour.

Speaking to the show’s host Nick Hewer, she said: “They have this list of things to do before you have the baby…

“They tell you to get the food in, get your energy drinks ready and make a playlist so you can relax because it can take so long.”

Rachel added she had initially made a playlist following her midwife’s suggestion, but it didn’t go to plan as Maven arrived quickly.

“She came so quickly and ended up arriving in the bathroom!” the Countdown star spilled.

“We didn’t have any music on at all, but one of the tunes I had prepared for my long endurance test was I Want To Break Free by Queen.

“So, that [song] makes me think of that now.”

Despite having no time to make it to the hospital, Rachel said her midwife thankfully arrived 20 minutes before the birth.

“I was standing up — there’s a video of the midwife catching her,” she previously told the Mail Online.

“I wasn’t scared, I was more like, ‘This is happening. Get it out!'”

Last month, Rachel announced she is expecting her second child with Pasha.

The Channel 4 star shared the news on her Instagram page in the form of a conundrum, the same way she announced her first pregnancy.

As part of her post, she told fans their newborn is due in Autumn.

“Happy, happy days for our little family @pashakovalev and future big sister Mave,” she wrote.

Rachel tied the knot with Pasha in secret at a Las Vegas ceremony in 2019, while she was pregnant.

The couple got together after being paired together on Strictly Come Dancing in 2013.

Since being a mum, Rachel regularly gives fans an insight into her family life on social media.

In a recent post, Rachel showed their daughter seemingly taking her first steps as the proud mum smiled for the camera.

She commented: “Having a little one seems to get better and better as time goes on and her little personality shines through.

“She’s still the spit of her dad but I’m not complaining about that.

“Thanks for all the well wishes for such a happy milestone, Pash and I are very proud parents.”

Countdown airs weekdays from 2.10pm on Channel 4.
