Celebs Go Dating wrap party ‘cancelled’ after Mike Thalassitis’ death

The Celebs Go Dating wrap party cancelled last week after the tragic death of 2018 contestant Mike Thalassitis , according to Kerry Katona.

Kerry was among the stars taking part in the latest series of the E4 show, along with Mike's ex-girlfriend Megan McKenna.

The tragic Love Island star, 26, who was found hanged in a north London park earlier this month, was also good friends with fellow Celebs Go Dating contestant Sam Thompson after they met on the 2018 show.

Atomic Kitten singer Kerry broke the news about the party being called off in her column for new! magazine.

She explained it had been scheduled for days after Mike's death and producers didn't think it was appropriate for the bash to go ahead.

Kerry wrote: "The Celebs Go Dating wrap party was postponed last week in the wake of what happened.

"Obviously Megan McKenna wouldn't be there, and I know Sam Thompson's devastated.

"It just feels like the whole thing wouldn't be appropriate right now.'

The series came to an end on March 17 – a day after Mike's body was found – and the final featured a moving tribute to the reality star.

After the credits finished, a picture of Mike appeared on screen with the words: "In memory of Mike Thalassitis 1993 – 2019"

Mike took part in the fourth series of the E4 dating show in February 2018 with stars including Gemma Collins and Jonathan Lipnicki.

His ex-girlfriend Megan was in the last current series and she broke down in tears speaking about Mike in an episode last month.

Mirror Online has contacted a representative for the show for comment.
