Catherine Zeta-Jones has revealed that her beloved cousin Gemma has died, as the star admitted, “she was truly a ‘Gem’ to us all” in a moving Instagram post.
The Welsh actress confirmed that Gemma died on February 13 as she paid tribute to her in view of her 3.6 million followers.
Catherine posted a photo of Gemma alongside a poignant image of a light, which featured the caption: “Gemma 1983-2021” followed by a love heart emoji.
The Chicago star was inundated with support from fans as she informed them that Gemma would be taking her “final resting place” today.
Catherine penned: “On February 13th my beautiful cousin Gemma left us in this world.
“She was truly a ‘Gem’ to us all and she was truly an extraordinary mother to her five children.
“Tomorrow she will take her final resting place.”
Catherine then encouraged her fans to join her and her family in “leaving a light on” for Gemma.
She added: “Join my family and I and leave a light on for Gemma tonight.”
