Arnold Schwarzenegger provided climate-change activist Greta Thunberg with some muscle in her plans to take on Canada – by arranging to have a Tesla Model 3 at her disposal, according to a report.
The Terminator’s rep told Car& Driver that the actor had asked the 16-year-old Swedish student to call “if she needed anything.”
Since she needed help with transportation, Schwarzenegger initially offered to loan her his electric-powered Hummer — but getting it to her across the country was impractical, the actor’s rep told Car& Driver.
Instead, the 72-year-old former Mr. Universe arranged for her to get the Tesla so she can “can travel fully electric through the United States and Canada,” the spokesman said.
The two environmentalists met earlier this year in Austria, after which Schwarzenegger confessed that he was “starstruck” by the young girl, whom President Trump appeared to troll after she gave an emotional speech to global leaders at the UN recently.
“She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!” Trump wrote of Thunberg.
Thunberg — who has become the global young face of anti-greenhouse-gas activism — fired back by changing her Twitter profile to say, “A very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future.”
In her address to the UN Climate Action Summit a day earlier, Thunberg fumed to the crowd, “How dare you?”
“This is all wrong. I shouldn’t be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean,” she said, her voice breaking at times.
Schwarzenegger is just one of several big names who have shown their support for Thunberg. Others include Leonardo DiCaprio, Barack Obama and Chris Hemsworth, according to Unilad.
