When we spoke to Alan Carr ahead of the release of the second series of his Epic Gameshow, the poor ol’ Chatty Man was exhausted. “I need a bloody holiday!” he tells us.

Epic Gameshow’s first episode is due to air on ITV at 8:35pm on 3 of April and opens with a celeb special that’ll feature Harry and Sandra Redknapp.

However, Alan revealed to us that this isn’t his first time meeting the iconic couple and shares plans to holiday with them – and perhaps even Tom Hardy – in the future.

Turns out, the Chatty Man presenter actually bumped into celeb contestants Harry and Sandra while on a getaway in Sardinia with his husband Paul Drayton.

“Weirdly enough, me, Harry, Sandra and my Paul have all holidayed together. We were in Sardinia staying in a lovely hotel.

“I was having a gin and tonic on the veranda and guess who walks in – Harry and Sandra! We had a lovely boozy dinner with them. Who knows, we might go on holiday again when we're allowed.”

We asked where his ultimate destination for this fabulous sounding vacation was: “Rome or Florence,” he told us – after some careful consideration. “Somewhere romantic so we could have a lovely double date.”

And the dreams don’t end there. Like many of us, Alan’s got a soft spot for the lovely Tom Hardy. He tells us the actor would be his dream contestant on a show.

“I'd invite him on holiday with me Paul, Sandra and Harry. What an episode of Celebrity Coach Trip that would be.” Um, can we come!?

When we asked if he’s been able to catch his breath at all over the latest lockdown, he tells us he’s had no such luck.

“No I haven't! I need a bloody holiday. If some of the contestants on Epic Gameshow win a break I might ask them to give it to me,” he laughs.

All jokes aside, Alan has been a really busy bloke over the last few months. What with judging RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, presenting Interior Design Masters and making guest appearances on The Masked Singer and Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel – it sounds like the charming entertainer could do with a break.

With lockdown easing and summer on its way, there is a light at the end of the tunnel – so Alan will hopefully get his dream getaway soon. Until then, he’ll continue doing what he does best: keeping the nation laughing.

Watch Alan Carr’s Epic Gameshow from Saturday 3 rd April at 8:35pm on ITV.
