This Hotel Will Make All The Fashion Girls Flock to Amsterdam

Like it or not, nothing inspires a vacation in the year of our Lord 2018 quite like scrolling through Instagram. If you opened the photo app at all this past summer, you were likely inundated with goal-worthy vacation pics of the fashion crowd living their best lives in Italy. And although an Amalfi Coast getaway is always a good idea, another European city is quietly emerging as the next It spot: Amsterdam.

With its scenic canals, bike-filled streets, eclectic range of boutiques, and yes, legalized marijuana, Amsterdam has always been a must-visit destination. But the newly-renovated Pulitzer Amsterdam is helping spearhead the city’s resurgence as a fashionable getaway and drawing influencers from around the world. Nestled in the heart of the city’s historic Nine Streets neighborhood, the hotel is full of art, history, and endless Instagram opportunities.

For my first ever visit to the Dutch capital, I got an authentic taste of the culture in my stay at the Pulitzer Amsterdam, which felt more like renting a chic apartment than staying in a hotel. With its picturesque canal views, the property is comprised of 25 17th- and 18th-century canal houses that belonged to wealthy Dutch aristocrats (obviously I felt right at home during my stay). In addition to classic and family suites, it also boasts four special suite options that offer a total immersion into the city’s unique culture: The Book Collector’s Suite, The Antique Collector’s Suite, The Art Collector’s Suite, and The Music Collector’s Suite.

But its ultra-chic design isn’t the only reason the Pulitzer is becoming a must-visit for influencers and fashion lovers alike. The hotel also offers bikes for guests to take out daily (along with a bike wall that serves as the ultimate #content opportunity), private boat cruises through the city’s river canals, and an outdoor garden oasis complete with giant swings.

Too scared to ride a bike in the streets of Amsterdam (if you’ve ever seen me ride a bike, you understand) so decided to pose with a bunch of them instead 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s located right in the midst of some of Amsterdam’s best shopping and dining, but the hotel also boasts three restaurants to choose from: Pause, Pulitzer’s Bar, and Jansz—the latter of which serves rosé brunch all spring and summer long (which is when I’d recommend visiting—not just for the rosé, but to see the city’s famous tulips in full bloom).

As for the part of your trip when you actually leave the hotel, it’s within walking distance of many of the city’s must-see spots like the Flower Market, The Anne Frank House, The Nine Streets for shopping, and yes, even the Red Light District. Given that my stay marked my first time ever in Amsterdam, I tried to squeeze in as much as I possibly could. From the coolest shops to the best pancakes and must-stroll parks, consider the below a bucket list for your first trip to the city.
