Plenty of families across America are debating whether it’s time to retire “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” in the wake of #MeToo, and Will Smith’s family is no different.
In an Instagram posted Sunday, Smith, decked out in a Santa-print suit and gift-wrap hat, tries to get his family to sing the classic 1944 duet. But daughter Willow Smith isn’t on board. “First red flag,” says Willow, pointing at the woman’s line “I really can’t stay.”
“She’s contradicting herself,” says Will, pointing out how the woman also says “This evening has been so very nice.”

Then, Willow points to the woman’s lyric that will hit home for her dad: “My mother will start to worry and father will be pacing the floor. As a father …”
Will concedes: “She just got me, she tapped into ‘as a father … ‘ “
After that, Willow points to the line, “Maybe just a half a drink more? (asks the man). What’s in this drink? (asks the woman).”
Will retorts: “She means, like, cinnamon.” But Will seems unconvinced by his own defense.
Son Jaden Smith films the whole thing, calling it “Round 1” of an apparent song battle.
