A family of four are living in a van because they refuse to give up their beloved pet dogs .
Robbie Williams, 50, his wife Katrina, 41, and their twin sons Robert and David, 19, have been sleeping in the Ford Transit for two weeks.
They lost their home in January after declaring themselves bankrupt over £2,500 rent arrears.
The family, from Motherwell, Scotland, then refused an offer of temporary accommodation from North Lanarkshire Council because their German shepherds Papia and Amera wouldn’t be allowed to live with them, the Daily Record reports.
Robbie said: “They offered us somewhere to stay but we couldn’t take the dogs – but they knew we had dogs when we were evicted.”
He fell into arrears after losing his job with a car recovery firm and having problems with Universal Credit .
He said: “I can’t work or claim benefits as I don’t have an address.
"I had to sell the Jeep I had to buy a van so we would have somewhere to sleep.”
North Lanarkshire Council spokesman said repeated efforts had been made to help the family.
