From hair accessories to oversized neck adornments, ladylike bows popped up in several designers’ collections for spring summer.
At Erdem, larger than life bows in sorbet shades brought an elegant sense of drama to the shoulders, necklines and backs of dresses. If they seemed big at Erdem, it was nothing compared to the ginormous ones at Givenchy (main photo), where Clare Waight Keller fashioned backpacks into giant latex bows that almost seemed like wings. Elsewhere, delicate bows transformed clothing and accessories at Balmain, Valentino, Giambattista Valli and Alexandre Vauthier, proving just how wearable and timeless this trend can be.
Captain Marvel is a huge box office hit, and its shining star, Brie Larson, above, is certainly winning on the red carpet. For the movie’s LA premiere, Brie was a vision in a delicate semi-sheer nude Rodarte gown complete with glittering silver stars and a dreamy train — exactly how I’d imagine a modern female superhero would dress for the spotlight.
A plant-based diet may not be for everyone, but even the most vegetable-averse can still avail of their natural health benefits by using skincare products that incorporate veggies. This unisex moisturiser brings together potent antioxidants and vitamins found in green tea, cold-pressed kale and spinach for a blend that hydrates and protects against sun damage and environmental stress… Consider it a green juice for your face. If bows remind you too much of your childhood dresses, consider taking a leaf out of Emilia Wickstead’s style book. The designer paired sleek hair bows with perfectly coiffed low ponytails, a look that Poppy Delevingne and other style savants have already emulated in real life. Très chic.
