Love Island winners Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey have exclusively shared the details of their wedding day with OK! magazine, following a stunning ceremony in Kent.

The couple, who met three years ago on the second series of the ITV2 show, said “I do” in front of 120 of their closest friends and family at Preston Court Barn in Canterbury after getting engaged last year.

Cara, 29, and Nathan, 27, who are proud parents to 17-month-old son Freddie-George, have shared the joy of their big day, with the X Factor’s Scarlett Lee singing at the ceremony.

The pair appear ecstatic to have tied the knot, as they sing to each other, while Nathan stands behind his new wife.

Revealing they had a “two day hangover”, Nathan said of their nuptials: “It went perfectly. It was one of the best days of my life. I lost my voice! Everyone has said it’s the best wedding they’ve ever been to.

“The alcohol was flowing and everyone was buying us drinks! After the wedding we camped with our friends in tipis. We had drinks, talked about the day and then we boogied the night away. I didn’t go to bed until 5am and then we got up at 7am to have a barbecue and make bacon and sausage rolls for everyone.”

Nathan continued by opening up on the moment he saw Cara, who was wearing a princess-style dress designed by Say Yes To The Dress star Christine Dando.

“One of my highlights of the day was first seeing Cara, while Scarlett was singing one of my favourite songs. Cara looked unbelievable. I was the one more likely to cry but neither of us did! We’re not very romantic people,” he said.

Following their wedding, the newlyweds said they are “100%” the strongest couple to leave the Love Island villa, with a string of contestants splitting shortly after the show.

Cara said: “We met on the first day, we didn’t sleep with anyone else or go on any other dates. Obviously we split up for a little bit and then we had Fred. I think we were meant to meet.

“Being a parent is the hardest but most rewarding thing in the world, and once you’ve had a kid with someone your bond is so strong because you depend on each other so much. We’re the first winners to get married. We’re proof the show can work."

She added: “When we met I never thought we’d get married. I wasn’t sure if we’d work on the outside, which is crazy to look back at now. We are made for each other. The split was the best thing for us at the time, it made us stronger.”
