5 Seconds of Summer just released a new single that gives a bit of a taste of the new sound that the band has been working on for its upcoming fourth studio album. “Easier” takes the band into an different sonic direction, with much more of an industrial, synth-driven electro-pop vibe with just a hint of R&B.
It really is quite a departure from the pop-rock sound of Youngblood. Think Nine Inch Nails meets Depeche Mode. Or an edgier Pet Shop Boys meets Mind of Mine-era Zayn.
